On 23 October, Consul General Zhang Biao met with Mr Mark Kent, Chief Executive of the Scotch Whisky Association.

Mr Kent said that the Association attaches great importance to the Chinese market and continues to increase its investment in China. The Association would soon lead a delegation to China and looked forward to strengthening ties with Chinese partners. The delegation would also participate in major events, including the China International Import Expo. The Association stands ready to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between Scotland and China.

Consul General Zhang commended Mr Kent and the Scotch Whisky Association for their active efforts in promoting friendly exchanges and trade cooperation between China and Scotland. He expressed his readiness to provide continuous support and to foster a positive environment for the development of China–Scotland relations, together with the Association.
