On 11 May 2023, Mr. Zhang Biao, Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, met with Dr. Liz Cameron CBE, Director & Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce(SCC), and Mr. David Valentine MBE, International Trade Ambassador (China) of SCC.

Consul General Zhang commended SCC for their long-term commitment to promoting China-Scotland business exchanges and cooperation at the local level. He pointed out that the 20th CPC National Congress drew up the development blueprint for China’s future. China is expanding opening up at a high level, which creates more space for China-Scotland practical cooperation. The Consulate General stands ready to keep close communication with SCC to promote mutually beneficial cooperation among companies and relevant cities of our two sides.

SCC welcomed Consul General Zhang for taking office in Edinburgh and stressed that SCC attaches great importance to trade and economic cooperation with China. SCC looks forward  to working with the Consulate General to better serve Scotland-China cooperation and local exchanges on the basis of sister-city relationships.
