On 5th May 2023, Mr. Zhang Biao, Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, met with Mr. David Slater, member of the board of China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and Mr. James Brodie, head of CBBC Scottish branch.

Consul General Zhang commended CBBC for their long-term commitment in promoting China-UK and China-Scotland business cooperation. He emphasized that the 20th CPC National Congress drew up the development blueprint for China’s future, and the gate of China’s opening-up will be even wider. The  industrial complementarities between our two sides will bring many new development opportunities. The Consulate General stands ready to enhance communication with CBBC to promote exchange and cooperation. 

Slater and Brodie stressed that CBBC attaches great importance to China market and is optimistic about China’s development prospects. As the world’s second largest economy, China’s prosperity brings UK lots of opportunities. CBBC will continue to play a positive role in promoting mutual understanding and practical cooperation between UK and China.
